BISCUITS FOR SANTA

Christmas Dessert Inspo Recipe!

To help inspire you all to get baking this Christmas, we've teamed up with a number of fabulous influencers to create some delicious Christmas dessert recipes using our Cake Angels products.

BETHBAKEDIT

Surely Santa is tired of having the same old milk and cookies every Christmas Eve by now! Why not mix it up this year and surprise Santa with some homemade, iced festive biscuits?

The amazing bethbakedit has created this fabulous recipe for you to try at home. Aren't these biscuits just the cutest thing!? Follow and look out for her other delicious recipes on her Instagram.

BISCUIT INGREDIENTS
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 100g softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

​DECORATION INGREDIENTS
  • 250g plain flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 500g ready to roll fondant icing
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 4 tbsp water​
  • Cake Angels Marshmallows
  • Cake Angels Rainbow sprinkles
  • Cake Angels Sweetie Pie sprinkles
  • Cake Angels Winter Wonderland royal icing decorations

BAKING EQUIPMENT
  • Grease proof paper
  • Electric whisk/wooden spoon
  • One large mixing bowl
  • Christmas shaped cookie cutters
  • Pastry brush

  1. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper, and set your oven to 160°C.
  2. For this recipe you can use an electric mixer or a wooden spoon is also adequate. 
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat well.
  4. Finally, add in your flour a little at a time until your mixture begins to thicken up into a dough.
  5. Sprinkle some flour over your work surface and roll out your dough to around 1cm thick. Use your Christmas cutters to cut out your shapes and place them onto your baking tray.
  6. Bake in the oven for around 8 minutes, remove from the oven and leave on the tray to cool and firm up for another 10 minutes before transferring onto a cooling rack.
  7. Dust your clean work surface with icing sugar and roll out your fondant icing to around 5mm thick, and cut out your shapes using your Christmas cutters.
  8. In a small bowl mix together the icing sugar and water to create an edible glue .
  9. Using a pastry brush, apply a small amount of your runny icing onto your biscuit and add your fondant shape on top.
  10. Get creative, adding sprinkles and embellishments onto your biscuits to make them festive and fun!
