The nations favourite programme is back and who better to dish out Bake Offs’ behind-the-scenes action than Cake Angels, straight from the tent? (Well, sort of). But of course, we don’t have halos for nothing and we just couldn’t lie to you, so with our heads in the clouds, we’re imagining what it would be like if GBBO pitched-up outside the golden gates of our HQ. Adding a sprinkle of fun this Bake-Off season, Cake Angels have launched Outbakes – a light-hearted take on what we think really happens when the cameras are off. We’ll be serving up an extra slice of funny, unseen moments, from kitchen chaos to Paul Hollywood’s obsession with lamination. Cake Angels have launched Outbakes to give fans an unofficial slice of the show they can’t get enough of, with plenty of baking drama to keep you going until the next official show. For those looking to get their bake on, we’re holding an exclusive competition with tasty treat prizes, just for sharing your behind-the-bake moments! Calling all Star Bakers, pre-bought fakers and tadaaah! moment chasers, we want to be tagged in your masterpieces (and disasters) online. Tag @CakeAngels and hashtag #Outbakes when uploading your behind the scenes pictures and videos to Instagram to be in for a chance of winning some of our favourite goodies. Catch our unofficial - yet exclusive - extras and outtakes from the show on our digital channels every Wednesday and enjoy the access-all-areas drama we all wish to be true. Join the conversation and have your say on the tent gossip by commenting and sharing with friends too. Don’t forget to subscribe and stay tuned for more of the show you love, with a Cake Angels twist. We've kick-started with Biscuit Week - check out our first Outbakes show here to see which of the judges will crumble first in a behind-the-scenes biscuit dunking competition! The icing on the cake Alongside our tongue-in-cheek campaign, Cake Angels is introducing Bake Off Reactions – a series of recap blogs with everything from the night before, including our favourite Twitter memes to our opinions on the bakes. Got your apron on but not sure where to start? Leave the preparation to us! We’ll also be posting easy-to-follow recipes every Tuesday, that will spoon-feed the most delicious recipes relating to that week’s theme straight to your kitchens. All you need to worry about is being sat in front of the TV in time for the show. The tent is pitched up and the cameras are rolling so what are you waiting for? On your marks, get set… BAKE! Disclaimer: The content produced by Cake Angels is constructed reality and is not actually content from the Great British Bake-Off show. These have been filmed for entertainment purposes and to parody the Great British Bake Off, and under no circumstances reveal the unseen moments from the show – as much as we’d love there to be an office inside Noel Fielding’s head, filled with tiny Noel Fielding minions. The views (and wild imaginations) expressed belong solely to Cake Angels and not Great British Bake Off or Channel 4, and we openly state that there is no affiliation between Cake Angels and GBBO or Channel 4. As we have little knowledge of the ongoings in the tent, the accuracy of our Outbakes series is limited.

Is anyone else already obsessed with the new season of Bake Off, or is it just us? The Cake Angels team and I have literally been counting down the days to launch night where our favorite judges reappear on our screen with a whole new line-up of fresh-faced contestants, eager to claim the Bake Off crown. And let's face it... the first ep's drama did not let us down! From that tash (FAN-GIRLING YOU TERRY!) to mourning the loss of Noel's luscious locks, GBBO has once again captured the nations' attention, and we've seen some hilarious reactions from you guys on social media. Here are a few of our fave moments and memes from Tuesday night... BAE of the Week That's right. We are absolutely loving the retired air steward whose edgy style and subjective selfie-biscuit took the internet by storm. Maybe it was Terry's hipster traits that played a role in his very artsy and cultured-looking selfie biscuit that reminded everyone else of a certain (and slightly terrifying) painting belonging to Phoebe Buffay from Friends. Thanks for pointing this one out to us Boohoo, there's defo some Gladys vibes. Fans were also quick to tweet that the bake was reminiscent of the Shrieking book in Harry Potter... and that moment in The Office. While Terry's selfie biscuit looked more like that night-out photo we really wish we hadn't been tagged in, we couldn't help but cheer him on as Paul offered his compliments (YES, Terry!) That's the wrong kind of selfie, Dan The contestants found the selfie challenge a great opportunity to share a little about themselves but some may have, erm, shared too much (we can't un-see it now)! Turns out Paul Hollywood has a very innocent mind compared to the rest of the tent and the whole of Twitter who thought Dan's baby looked more phallic than "prawn"-like. And we clearly wouldn't want it any other way... Noel, is that you? Lastly, we have to mention it... Noel's *missing* hair! If GBBO starting the show with biscuit week wasn't breaking traditions enough, Noel's dramatic hair transformation had us all wailing "WHERE HAVE THE LUSCIOUS LOCKS GONE?" And obviously, as massive Fielding fans, Cake Angels were one of the first to join the serious, bake-off business of finding the quirky presenter's trademark hair... While others suffered from Noel's Goth hair withdrawal symptoms and tried to remember happier times. What a week. I guess all we can do now is wait for the next Bake Off and the infamous Cake Week. Tear open a packet of crisps (cough cough Karen) and join our #Outbakes campaign by getting creative with our fave biscuit recipe! We'll see you back here, on Wednesday, for our next Reactions blog! |
