Welcome back to the Reactions blog, where you'll find the best tweets, memes and commentary for the nation's favourite baking show. This week we saw the return of Pastry Week, the departure of the lovable Dan and some mad (hatter) bakes - see what we did there? In that case, let's talk BAE of the Week. BAE of the Week I'm not sure how this one previously escaped the accolade, but this week our shining star was happy-go-lucky Briony Williams from Bristol. We've loved watching her from the very beginning, and we're over the moon that the full-time mum received Star Baker last night! But no one is showing as much support and love for the Bristolian baker as her husband on Insta, also known as... well, @Steve_Brionys_husband (so cute)! Turns out we all need a supportive Steve in our lives, overflowing with admiration in their posts and drumming up the attention of social media. All of his pictures capture a day in the life of Briony, her media appearances and some brilliant selfies so definitely go check this guy out. And be still our fluttering hearts, she even met up with one of our Bake Off faves... IT'S ONLY TEZZA! We hope this friendship lasts forever. And let's take a moment to remember her week one masterpiece, incredible! Paul is still a bit too handshake happy Yeah yeah OK, the handshakes are getting "out of hand" (get it) - and you guys feel the same. Then again, we're kind of thinking these handshakes are pretty well deserved, did you SEE those samosas?! and Kim-Joy's mermaid pie?! So Cake Angels! Prue and her necklaces So let's see who's REALLY been watching; anyone else notice Prue's weird and wonderful, toy-like couture over the past few weeks? Well it seems a lot of you are just as eagle-eyed and can't help but draw similarities during the show, and we are LOVING IT. Jon, what you doing BAE? But don't worry, we're still loving you for that ballet-inspired showstopper and tutu. Anyway, that's nothing compared to Dan's disturbingly realistic fish pastry. I mean, who wants to eat an uncooked fish? Artistic skill: 10/10. Appeal: 2/10. and sadly for that and some unbaked samosas, that was the end of Dan's journey on Bake Off (there's going to be no one left soon)! We think you should keep up with the artistic bakes Dan, they look incredible but maybe steer away from the scaly, uncooked kind of vibe next time? Continuing the love The competition is certainly getting tougher but that doesn't stop the contestants being constantly supportive of each other! If only the judges could be more like Rahul and this year everyone could win! It's been another fabulous show and we can't wait to see what next week has in store. Especially when the teaser for Bake Off's first ever Vegan Week showed another potential #BinGate moment!!! No contest this week Briony was definitely the Princess of the pastry 😀 I’d liked her from the beginning too so hopefully this is her on the up now.
