Grease and line a 9 inch square tin with non-stick baking paper.
In a large bowl, beat 200g caster sugar, 200g softened butter, 4 beaten eggs and 200g self-raising flour until you have a smooth, soft batter.
Bake for about 20 mins until golden (the cake should spring back when pressed).
Turn onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely.
To make the filling, beat the 100g softened butter until smooth and creamy, then gradually beat in 140g sifted icing sugar.
Using a 3 inch round cutter, cut out the mini cakes and slice cake through the middle to fill.
Fill the mini cake with buttercream and a thin layer around the edge and top.
Melt the white chocolate and colour with a paste colour if you wish.
Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the cake and allow to drip over the edge.
